    Garmin Pilot MyCast iPad/iPhone FREE

If it's too good to be true, it probably is a lie. Thanks to the OP, it was useful while it lasted. Now mine doesnt work and is hitting me up for a subscription. I guess they deserve a chance to try to make a buck, but I'll be deleting mine.

Proposed Philadelphia Bravo Changes -- Meetings and Chart

Thanks to everyone for highlighting this and providing feedback. I too intended to go to one of the meetings, but was unable. The links to the forms is great, thanks. Let's mobilize on this, no need to change the airspace dimensions in areas where there's not a current problem. It sounds like...

Proposed Philadelphia Bravo Changes -- Meetings and Chart

Good point. Adjusting our pattern entry is no big deal. Bringing the "noisy" aircraft lower and closer to the residents is a bigger issue.

Proposed Philadelphia Bravo Changes -- Meetings and Chart

The proposed changes will pose a problem for some VFR arrivals into Wings (KLOM). The "standard" method taught by the Wings instructors for arrivals from the North when 24 is active involves overflying the field at 2500 MSL then maneuvering over the quarry for the "45 entry". Turbine pattern...

Ted, Why would your groundspeed matter? Wouldn't a tailwind be pushing the icing atmospheric conditions along too? -Jason

Navy Pilots Busted for Low Flyover

I wasn't in Georgia for this event, but I've witnessed the flyover at the Army Navy game in Philly, and those dudes are seriously low. I swear the Apaches dipped below the top of Lincoln Field (where my seats are!). The F18s that followed were nearly as low. This type of behavior should be...

Mission + Pilot = Which Aircraft?

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to post here. Regarding commercial travel times, most of my destinations would require a plane change. Philly is a "soft" hub for USAir, but for the southeast nearly everything connects through Charlotte. @Ron: Thanks for the paper. Most of my...

Mission + Pilot = Which Aircraft?

If the average dispatch over a full year was only 40%, I would probably not buy the plane. Instead I would rent from FBO during good weather periods and fly commercial more often. I'd also consider a fractional ownership program. Good points. Strike that from the request list. Perhaps the...

Mission + Pilot = Which Aircraft?

I'm not clear on this question: Would I be purchasing the airplane to use on business trips? Yes. Likely one night stayover; though if possible, returning same day would be nice. Some trips would require staying in the area for 4 days and hoping around to different small towns in that...

Mission + Pilot = Which Aircraft?

Howdy PoA'ers! I'm a long-time lurker here, and thought I'd poke my head in the door, say hello, and ask a question or two. What aircraft would you recommend for the following: Primary Mission: Average once-a-week business trip, distance of 600 nm, east of the Mississippi. Usually from the...
