Another Fatal Vmc Demo Stall Spin

Possible solution may be to require an endorsement prior to the checkride similar to spin training for CFIs. That would eliminate the need for every flight school to have the appropriate simulator and for it to be addressed as part of the checkride.

Bearhawk down 10/29 out of KWBW

As for the video, are we looking at the same one? In the one I saw the plane was going straight down like a lawn dart yet Kenny is saying there is no video of the plane in distress.

    Scattering Ashes…2 Dead

Pilot at my FBO did an ash drop, when he got back he was covered in ashes and it was also all over the side of the plane.

    Oops

We are being intercepted, quick, evasive maneuvers, throttle back, carb heat on, full flaps, that will show them!

    Oops

Military pilots must have to do some serious slow flight to intercept the typical GA airplane.

Netflix Releases Documentary on the Boeing MCAS Failures

Your first comment actually supports my point. Airlines defer maintenance all the time when it is allowed by the MEL. If Lion Air was actually aware that a defective AOA could make the plane want to dive into the ground due to MCAS, I imagine they would have fixed it. As to your second comment...

Netflix Releases Documentary on the Boeing MCAS Failures

How can you say the crew in the first crash should have done better when Boeing actually hid the existence of MCAS to everyone outside Boeing to avoid additional pilot training; training that could have addressed what MCAS was and how to deal with a malfunction. Can't believe how many people in...

    Military Aircraft or Something Else?

Several years ago I was driving (not flying) to the New Jersey shore for our annual family vacation. All of the house rentals start and end on Saturdays, and when you combine that with people heading to the shore for the weekend, Saturday is a major traffic headache. I have never done well in...

    Lost Procedures

Circle- since you don't know where you are, no sense in continuing on your current heading since you may very well be flying away from your destination. Climb- increases what you can see on the ground for pilotage, better communications and more likely to show up on radar. Conserve- fuel could...

When to pull throttle idle on landing.

The only time I would expect my student to keep in the power as long as you like is if they are on the backside of the power curve and dragging the plane in low and slow. Otherwise, during a normal approach on glide path or high, I want to see them cut the power as soon as they feel the runway...
