These guys had angels with them...

From KJAS radio (kjas.com): An airplane, which is believed to have run out of fuel and was crash-landed by the pilot into Steinhagen Lake; Dam B, early Tuesday, was retrieved from the lake on Thursday morning. The salvage operation was conducted by Dick and Sons Diving Service, which has...

    headset/intercom/sidetone/radio oddity?

+1 grounding. This could be an RF issue (transmitter interfering with the headset).

    Cherokee cockpit entry technique?

What's really fun is when my wife get impatient during pre-flight and jumps in the right seat (then expects me to crawl over). You wouldn't want to try this with a stranger!

Adapting an old CB antenna to Comm hand held

It sounds like your "CB" antennas may have loading coils in them. 4.25 feet is quite a bit short of a quarter wave at 27MHZ. If thats the case then cutting the whip to 22.7" isnt going to do it.

    Handicap Passenger/Cherokee 140

Thanks for the input. I understand the safety concerns but she is fairly small. I've no doubt that I could pull her from the cabin in an emergency but it would NOT be a comfortable exit. I would like to make this a good experience for her.

    Handicap Passenger/Cherokee 140

Anyone with experience? I have an eager passenger who is wheel-chair bound, has very limited use of her legs as well as severly limited upper body strength. My major concern is helping her exit the plane. I think it's do-able but would like to hear from anyone who has tried it. Thanks! Dave

    Pensacola/Destin Airspace

I'm a fledgling pilot (100 hrs) about to embark on one of my longest cross-countrys to date from Dallas, TX to Destin. The direct approach into Destin looks a bit busy with the P'cola Class C, AFBs, etc. Any info on what I might expect and/or advice would be greatly appreciated! Dave
