+1 on ballast in the back end of the Seneca if you don't have Pax back there. It'll help immensely! If you look in the POH, there's actually a recommended order to load the Seneca in when it comes to persons. I believe it's something along the lines of if only 1, it must be the pilot...if 2...

The newer Garmin navigators paired with the Aera navigators are an awesome combo and can be done for a relatively low price. I've had it in two aircraft now and still love it! Since they basically use the same O/S, it's quick and easy to get the information you are after.

I've always wondered this about later Century autopilots. Are you able to upgrade the IIIc to a 2000 easily? There are features on newer Century devices that I wish I had.

I can understand your reluctance, but this is not the cheap plastic that you may be used to with aircraft interiors. At the end of the day though, you want what you want. Just thought I'd offer this up since it is definitely a more robust option and readily available.

Here's the finished product from my Seneca install. I didn't opt for the -30C to go with it...just didn't have enough remaining functions to make it worth it I didn't think. I did also install the USB device from EI...you can see it at the bottom of the panel on the pilot side.

I get mine through the Aera 796, which is basically a great poor man's MFD for the GTN650. I love the combo together.
