Actually it's an extremely important skill to have. There is nothing wrong with flying a 170 knots final IF Atc has asked for max forward speed. You aren't landing fast of really approaching fast. The cirrus will slow to flap speeds quickly and the flaps will bring you to a regular approach...
Another thing to add regarding the Cirrus is it has arguably the best type club for piston owners. COPA is outstanding and their training programs worth the cost
Daniel Chueng is the best in business. He is extremely well regarded in the Cirrus Community and an avid poster on the COPA forums even though he himself is not a pilot. I would highly recommend someone specializing in aviation taxes as they can become complicated extremely quickly.
