My advice for you is this- don't bother reading the thread you started looking for helpful information. Your sincere attempt at gathering useful information has turned into pages of flaming and d!ck measuring. I joined this forum a few weeks ago on a similar quest, and think I'm done now.
Ciao.
And I'm supposed to travel to Denver on Monday for work. Nice. Company's located in Centennial area- be interesting to see if my trip gets postponed/cancelled.
Best wishes to all affected up there!
I'm fairly sure that former air show pilot/ US Aerobatic Team member/ current Red Bull Air Race pilot Kirby Chambliss was a S.W. driver also before he went full-time acro...
Obviously, I don't know your skills/abilities- maybe you're the next big thing?
Ahh, to be young/low-time again! Ditto on what was said above about arriving PHX after dark, compounded by a day like that. You lose 3 hours before engaging the starter too. I've done Pittsburgh-Phoenix in a longgg day before in a Bonanza- also remember doing Phoenix-Grand Island Nebraska-South...
I'd never heard of it, until you mentioned it. I checked it out. Looks nice, but is a little slower than I'm looking for. I'd like a bit more performance all around. And either RG or taildragger configuration most likely.
Thanks for the tip though!
Could it be mounted facing forward at the top of the vertical stab? Some light acro, etc. would be pretty awesome from that vantage point...
Very cool videos, btw. I'd love to try it someday, but am clueless about the editing part. I like your choice in music for these vids too.
Haulin' parts all over to broken helicopters...

Staggering. The list of life-limited components, each requiring its own "reserve," is unreal. Part of the reason a ride in a three-million dollar EMS helicopter costs what it does. I said PARTof the reason, lol.
Will likely be relocating to the Bend/Redmond area in the not-too-distant future. Would like to converse with someone local concerning the different airports, etc. probably easiest to talk via email or a phone call would be great. Areas/airports I'm interested in are Bend, Sunriver, Madras...
Yikes. And then at the end they say you can use non-ethanol 91+ octane Mogas. Seems to be contrary to the message of the whole SB prior to that point, doesn't it?
I'd never (knowingly) run ethanol. I'm thinking Lancair 320/360 or Glasair I for an aircraft. I doubt if I'd ever even run straight Mogas- most likely adding it (topping off) 1/2ish full tanks at home before a couple of 100LL fill-ups on my trips.
Thanks again for the feedback.
Sort of on-topic questions here- I'm a long-time pilot, but new to dealing with auto gas STC, and am looking to join the ranks of experimental aircraft owners. The idea of using SOME Mogas mixed with 100LL to cut the cost down is very inviting, and I have a 90-gallon tank I could use for...
