How did you find your plane?

Found ours in Trade-a-plane. Ive been solicited about 6 times by folks sending our cards from the FAA data base looking for 182s in my year. May have a buyer though from that and one on the filed who really likes it if I have to sell it this spring due to pay cuts at work :( Tim

Flying over water in Single Engine Aircraft

Don, I would agree with your assessment that the islands in the Gulf are not real suitable for landing but they may provide a place to swim to if you can set down near them. They arent that big and look fairly rocky to me from the air. The water this time of year is generally pretty calm in...

    Which Multi?

Ive flown all three and they are all good airplanes. Id go with the 310 but Im partial to Cessnas. One with good avionics (GPS, autopilot, etc) would be useful too for getting a variety of training too since youll have your Instrument ticket then 15-20 hours sounds pretty high. Id shoot for 8...

Just havin' a little fun - The Pinnacle Crash...

All, Couple comments here. Number one, the statement about having a little fun is being taken way out of context. Because the CRJ200 is underpowered for its respective weight, it rarely can get to the higher altitudes when it is loaded with pax (it is legally certified to fly at by the way) so...

    What planes have you owned?

We bought a 75 182P in Sep 2003 and love it. Can put the wife and son in, full tanks, and max out the baggage with about 100 pounds leftover. Our first and only plane we've owned. Tim

    Anyone Near The Following...

Ed, I live near Portland, OR and do a couple trips to North Dakota each year. If you're looking to see Ranier, Id go north to SEA along I-90 for your cascade crossing then south to see St Helens. If the weather isnt the greatest, go through the Columbia Gorge (watch out for the winds though...

    Should I be concerned?

Nick, Dont even worry about that. That will not come up. There are alot more other things employers look at like FAA/Driver license violations, experience, personality, work history etc. Heck, most the people doing the hiring at the airlines arent even pilots and have NO clue what it takes...
