Here are a few pictures of my initial flight training.

Here I mistook the flight school parking lot for the runway.
My flight instructor said it was a fairly common mistake.

On this clear day I thought it would be a good time to pratice some solo approaches under the hood.
Didn't realize how close the flight school biulding was to the runway.

The tree next to the flight school is much taller than it appears on the chart.

The 1-26 was tied down on the ramp. A student in a 150 went off the rwy in the background, and drove though the wing of the 1-26. The prop chewed up the wing pretty good, and the landing gear did the rest.

Don't forget to tie down your airplane because you never know when high winds will blow through your airport.

Naw, that was due to a $100 burrito.

Now where do we keep that fire bottle again?

I think this is one of my favorite 'aww crap' videos:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMmHYWjEmkY

The observers 'fooket' comment just as the nose wheel collapses makes the video.

Fake! I've done worse porpoising than that in my 235 with no damage, but then I was slower because I used full flaps. :yikes:

Burp the throttle, fly out of it to the right attitude and land.

Youse guys keep find videos showing that my baby can be broken and I don't like it.

Oldie but a goodie. Definitely an "aww crap".

And, since you didn't say they had to be aviation related, this truck was full of printer ink:

If I remember correctly, the Asiana captain kept adding power as he thought he was stuck on some ice. He was almost at take off power when they finally got him to shut down.

If I understand the story correctly and if I got the correct video, this one is about the very tragic attempt to recover a B-29. Much effort was expended to get the aircraft flyable only to have it destroyed by an APU fire.

This one is more a very depressing aww crap moment than "best"

Result of RV nosegear digging into turf.

Great timing on the pic.

Yeah, I'd prefer survivable "oopses", really.

The RV: That was right after an overhead break, right ? :) :) :)
