flying over Utah yesterday someone reported and elt to center whose reply was, "sadly that is a real one, going since Tuesday....they have been unable to get 'up' there to turn it off but they know the outcome already, its a Bonanza"
On the topic of SAR, someone showed me an FAA info sheet yesterday that suggests we don't have to buy the new ELTs if we don't want to for pt 91 (of course many will think this is a bad idea) so it will become voluntary, is that old incorrect info or not?
I hope that I will still be flying when I am 78. Instead, I will probably be sitting on the computer making witty replies. How could anyone love crashing an aircraft ?
