G1000 upgrade

Could this be true? A friend of mine has a 2007 Diamond DA40 with a G1000. It is NOT WAAS or ADSB capable.

He was quoted $30k to add Waas and another $10k for ADSB-Out

Does he have other options they are not telling him about?
Makes me appreciate my mix of steam gauges and a Garmin stack.

After the ohhh ahh wore off, the G1000 isn't that impressive, outside of from a expensive and heavy position

There was a small set of G1000's that were not WAAS capable. I have had two that were...the ADSB debacle for them is about the same as it is in my PA46...jacked up.

Mine was also an 07...but from Cessna.

A club member had his Mooney Waas upgraded for $18,000 and Adsb fo another $6000.

I've purchased entire airplanes that cost less than that.

But they weren't WAAS or ADS-B compliant either.
