Just finished my 20th annual on my baby Beech B-19 Sport. All went well expect having to change #1 cylinder for low compression.

Have flown the baby Beech from the Gulf of Mexico to Juneau, AK to Chicago to Knoxville to Elko, NV to Ketchikan, AK and back to Juneau, in my 20 years flying it. Not one flight, my job kept me moving over the years, made a big circle that's for sure...:)

Flight today after annual was great, new cylinder working fine. Wish I had brought my camera awesome view of the Juneau ice fields from 8500 feet.

Ha, Ha typo in title.......:)

That's quite a long-term relationship you've had with the aircraft. Lots of great memories!!
So nice to know the status of every last bit of your plane.

Over the years I must say I have done lots to maintain, the Sport. Removed tail and replaced spar and ribs. Replaced the outer 12 inches of the left wing spar . Replaced several cylinders. Replaced radios. Painted everything except the wings, that's this summer. 2 windshields. wing root seals, 3 batteries' in 20 years, engine baffle seals. Added oil filter to engine. 406 ELT this summer.

Snow plow hooked the tail tiedown rope and buckled left fuselage skin, replaced that, took 6 months to get parts and install. Airport paid for the repair I did 80% of the work..

I'm sure I forgot a few thinks but I do know the Sport very well , and it's well maintained....:)

That is excellent.
You did not say you changed the engine in that time; still going strong after 20 years? How many hrs on the engine?
I am in a similar situation with my airplane; it has its 50th birthday this year and I have had it 17 years, have done much to it and know a bit about her insides now.

I think the engine has 1600hrs on it, low time when I bought 60R. Will have to look in logs for install date. It's an O-320-E3D. Good to hear others out there are keeping there older planes flying. My Sport is 43 years young this year....:) Happy flying
