Looking for the part number on a replacement rotating beacon bulb for a 1977 172N. During preflight today noticed the rotating beacon wasn't working. Took the cover off and it was obvious the glass/filament part had corroded the connection and it was in two pieces.

I checked the logbook going back to 2001 and couldn't find a reference where this was replaced.. found other references to lamp replacements so guessing this is older than 14 years and just corroded over time.

The bulb's base is worn quite a bit and I can't make out any part number... included the picture of it for reference.

Edit: Several places reference GE-1940... but the picture of that doesn't match the picture of the one I pulled out... which could mean that they didn't use the right one last time they changed it I suppose.

Is this a rotating beacon or a FLASHING ONE. It looks like one of the flashing halogen beacon bulbs:

If you have a 14V system:

If you have a 28V system:

I believe it's a flashing one... there's no rotating mechanism, just a bulb that screws in and you put the red plastic cover back over it. These look like they may be the winner (14V one).

Edit: NM, I thought it said "Bacon Lamp".
