Where to go….

The in laws are nice enough to take the kids for spring break so we can get away, first time in 14 years or so. The wife wants toes in the sand for a week and I want to fly around and see the country. I am looking for some ideas that we can fly to from Chicago and both get a great vacation and well needed R & R. I was thinking of Florida or Texas with a few stops along the way.

Ideas?

Either would be great, You could go to Jays on Mustang Island. Could be a rough trip if you don't have your instrument though.

14 years? Go to the Bahamas. Great flying, great beaches, and a real adventure. You won't regret it. I'm sure Jay's hotel is nice, but for the first trip in 14 years you need to do something amazing for your wife. My wife is still talking about our last trip back in May.

Also keep in mind spring break on the Texas gulf coast is, well, spring break.

I've found that a nice get away with my wife now and then without me doing the flying or worrying about flying keeps her happy about my flying.

Kauai or nothing! I have a cousin who rents a nice condo on Kauai.

Southern Florida is always nice, key west for one. If you don't want to go that far down there are plenty of beachs in the st Pete area.
