Private checkride went horribly wrong!

Only because he was being vindictive.

Even if we take everything you've said to be 100% true and accurate, I still see absolutely nothing the DPE did to be improper.

If you fail the oral, you don't get to fly. That's not vindictive, that's just the way things work.

I'm sorry, but 642 posts in this absurd thread? C'mon folks, SPAM is SPAM. Entertainment, well, maybe. Reality, ummmm, nope.

I guess this makes it 643, but I couldn't resist......

Oh and BTW, to the OP: just do us a favor, in case you are actually real, and somehow manage to get a license: Give us fair warning about where you're flying, because I wish to avoid that airspace by as wide a margin as possible. Thanks

It's hard to see how successful you are when you remain anonymous. The Internet is full of phonies and posers, you show yourself to be nothing but. Post under your real name and people may show you the respect you feel you deserve.

It's hard to see how successful he is when all he posts are failures and bat**** crazy rants that make him look like a butthurt 15 year old. Maybe an actual verifiable success might help, but that's one hell of a deep hole to dig out of. None of this "I drink $500 wine" BS. I don't think anyone at all believes that, and even if it were true, it would be irrelevant.

Pete (or is it Ed? I still have doubts), you're not "better" than the rest of us. Maybe you are in some limited field, but I'm not seeing even the slightest expertise in anything. Respect is neither asserted nor demanded. Saying otherwise is ordinary petulance at best. Give us something to respect, and some of us might listen. But that's a huge hole you've dug for yourself.

Yes, it is quite a dilemma... I'd love to be able to do that. Unfortunately, I've made a few self incriminating statements, exposed myself as a potential alcoholic, had a rant about a DPE online and insulted multitudes of people. Several of them in Texas, and you just never know with Texans.

I'd better stay anonymous a little longer, at least until I get the PPL! :D

This is going to be a good week, I can feel it. I am going to resolve this with the DPE, and get retested then start on the next certificate.

My first impression reading his posts is that he's a poster child for the "Everyone Gets a Trophy Generation"

I'm definitely not Ed. But thank you, that is quite a compliment!

I'm not better than you in EVERYTHING. I'm sure there is something you are better in. Tiddlywinks perhaps?

So, just what are you better than me at?

I'm seeing no competencies whatsoever.

Better at being crazy and having delusions of grandeur without a doubt.

Seriously, at least say what states you plan to fly in so we can move to be safe if you ever get your certificate. I have a feeling if you retest you'll just lie about it no matter what to try to hide your double shame if you fail again.

What sort of prize for the 1000th post?

I understand it is tough to see how successful I am, because it only highlights what a dismal failure you are. You're talking about yourself, right? YOU don't know any attorney's, YOU wouldn't be able to afford one and YOU don't have the courage to call one. I am right, am I not? For this reason, I will look past this outburst of yours.
Oooh, swing and a miss. I can even use apostrophes correctly. Better luck next time, kid.

If that's the limiting factor, I predict you'll be permanently anonymous.

..which, after getting another pink slip from the DPE, will not be a pilot certificate.

Dude, face it. You are so full of cr@p that if your eyes aren't brown, it's only because you're a quart low. When your only value is that of comic relief, it should tell you something. I'm sure it won't, though. You seem to lack any trace of good judgment. Kudos to your DPE for recognizing that.

I agree -- you absolutely should go directly to the FSDO, file a complaint against the DPE (and please, do give them ALL the details) and get your check ride from the FAA directly.

This is the smartest comment you have made to date. It seems like you may be listening to a few of us. While we are having a little fun at your expense, I think many of us are trying to give you some life advice that applies well beyond flying.

You need to realize that throughout you life you will encounter people like this dpe. He may be wrong, or you may only think he is wrong. Sometimes it is better to get over the goal line than to be right. Suck it up, apologize (even if you are 100% certain you were correct) take a check ride and get on with your life. You have spent more time on this thread than you would have fixing this with the dpe.

1. pick your battles. Life is too short to make everything a fight. I deal with people that I think are wrong all the time, but sometimes it is easier to tell them how smart and correct they are as they give me what I need.

2. accept that you always have a hand in your failures. I have employees and sometimes they do stupid stuff. I generally take some of the blame for their screw up. I clearly did not give proper instruction and/or direction. I know what I wanted, they should have know what I wanted, etc. If what I wanted did not happen, I get some of the blame.

That's not rude, that's a reality check, might be a rude awakening.... Seriously, as you post, you show all the significant signs of a person who will auger in.

Why? Because I question dogma that is wrong? There are a lot of very knowledgeable people on this forum. I know that. I know they know what I know which is that aviation is going to be changing profoundly in the next five to ten years. The way we navigate is going to change. The laws are going to change. The ridiculously antiquated way of flying by the seat of your pants, and reams of paper, and squinting at VOR needles is all going to come to an end. Pilotage, dead reckoning, etc, all that crap is going to be gone.

I am just ahead of my time. If I had been doing this test in five years time, the DPE at that stage would have agreed with me.

You all say how you don't want me flying in your airspace because I am dangerous. YOU are dangerous in all your old junky planes and paper navigation. Please warn me when YOU are flying in MY airspace so I can stay well clear!

Have a good day.

Assuming Little Petey doesn't get put in "time out" again, it's looking pretty good!!!

Mikey needs to go into time out for all his inflammatory comments directed towards Little Petey!

Thank you for your comments. I do respect what you have to say, and agree with what you say too.

Others on this thread will be shocked by that! But yes, I do listen to respectful people who argue their cases logically and honestly.

No, because you don't think details are important. Aviation safety is all about the details and you are willing to abdicate the attention to detail to some battery powered POS, and then you don't bother to see if they are correct. You also don't concern yourself with knowledge beyond minimum required. In short, you are plain lazy in your attitude towards aviation. When you combine lazy with a lack of hubris, that a perfect combination to lead to the proverbial smoking hole. You don't even know what you don't know yet, yet you know everything already, heck, you can even "fly circles around everyone here." How many hours do you have so far?

Flying "by the seat of your pants" will never be gone, it's your last avenue of rescue when everything else goes wrong. Read the final report on Air France 447 and you will see why what you think is so dangerous.

Another swing, another miss. I deal with little kids who lack judgment frequently, it's nothing new. The difference is, of course, they're all under the age of 10. When one doesn't gain any grip on reality with age, you become a Dunning-Kruger case study.

No, because you don't think details are important.

When did I ever say details are not important? I am saying details ARE important, which is why I argued against that imprecise paper based nonsense.

FTF - the particular unit in this thread is not a threat to grow up any time soon...

Yet, by your own admission, you didn't bother to cross check your electronic whiz-bang gizmo with what was supposed to be done on the cross-country planning...

Thinking like that is what lead to Air France 447, where the pilots trusted their whiz-bang computer technology over antiquated seat-of-the-pants stall recovery all the way into the South Atlantic.

You didn't check the output of your iPad to see there was an error in detail when putting that information on your XC form for the DE to review. If you don't check detail for a checkride, you surely will fail to do so for normal flight. You don't believe in VORs, which means you most likely won't be cross checking your position using them verifying the accuracy of your GPS. The paper is much more accurate than you may imagine, you can easily fly visual pilotage across the country just by looking at the details on the paper and looking for those details on the ground. If you continue to fly, I promise you there will come the day when your electronics will fail you, that is why they insist you know how to do it all with a compass, clock, and a piece of papyrus.

BTW, with this attitude about navigation, you have no chance of earning your instrument rating.

With his attitude about the rules, he has a high probability of just flying IFR without the bother of an Instrument Rating anyway. It's just an old-fashioned test after all, some dumb rules that are just not relevant to the Everyone Gets a Trophy Generation.

Considering the other post he made while in time-out about filing IFR using the CFIIs name, you may be right.

Okay, I concede, I made a mistake during my oral. Yes. Have you ever made a mistake, oh perfect one?

Allegedly. :nono:

That particular individual was posing a hypothetical question. For the record, I have never done anything illegal.
