Hello. I'm looking for someone to do a pre-buy on a 1964 Cessna 172 in the SF Bay area. Anyone in the area have a recommendation? They'll need to be mobile, as the plane is located at Sonoma Skypark and is out of annual. Thanks in advance for any replies.

If it is flyable, you should be able to get a ferry permit, but then it would need an annual. You are going to want to fly it before you buy it, in my opinion, for most planes. Lincoln Skyways is a great shop and an easy hop from there. Ask for Dave.

Thanks. I have talked to a shop in Petaluma, the guy there says they have someone that can go to 0Q9 to do the work, but have not received a response from him (the AP) regarding this inquiry. I was hoping to get it all done without ferrying the aircraft but I'll check with the seller to see if he is willing to do that.

If you're talking to Mangon, great choice.

Actually I had been talking to a different shop there in Petaluma, but I just called Mangon and am awaiting a call back.

Tom's aircraft up at Lampson is pretty solid. Ask if Chad can do it. Knows his stuff as well as anybody.
