Early to work, I watch them arrive.
This place of business at the end of their drive.

Tired and slow they come to this floor.
on to their desks once they get through that door.

The work place is draining its raining it sucks.
The siht we will go through to make a few bucks.

The one dose of comfort in their morning routine.
A jaunt to the break-room to get some caffeine.

That coffee, that java, that hot cup of Joe.
That sweet f**king nectar that makes us all go

One at a time they pass by my chair.
Will it be John or will it be Claire?

Pretending to work, I watch from my post.
Waiting and watching, completely engrossed.

One by one, they all go in.
None are aware of my little push pin.

See I make the coffee and I'm kind of a dick.
I re-sort the cups sometimes adding a prick.

One Cup, Two Cups, Three Cups deep.
My little pin urging fluids to seep.

Bury the cup a few layers in,
Back in my pocket goes my little pin.

I pour myself a warm cup o Joe.
making sure to avoid the cup with the hole.

Back to my desk, the fun part begins.
mentally betting on who's gonna win.

Damn! Called to a meeting before the reveal
Daily Scrum Meetings my Achilles' heel

More meetings more meetings the same song and dance.
But then I see Dave and the stain on his pants!

Oh lord can it be? Can it be real?
The most perfect victim of my little spill.

I imagine the moment he sat at his desk.
My little pin made his morning a mess.

Reading the news and taking a rest.
His coffee doth ooze on his pants and his desk.

Dave loves to yell and get carried away.
He's a big bully with a ****ty toupee.

Dave go ahead. Enjoy the Fray.
See I got mine at the start of your day.

I'll feel no fear at the sight of your glance.
I left my mark on the front of your pants.

The day's finally over. Its come to an end
No matter what happens today was a win.

Tomorrow's a new day. We'll start once again.
Just me and the coffee and my little pin.

Man, I'm just glad you don't work here.

Dude, nice try ... but no cigar.

I prefer Chaucer. :D

Oh, I'm no poet, I just needed to get something off me chest and I can't tell anyone at the office. I don't know who all has been impacted by this hobby of mine. :D

A simple "I pricked a hole in a random coffee cup" would have done the trick. Why oh why is eman being a prick?

I don't drink coffee....

....but I do poke holes in other peoples barf bags.

I can't wait to see the rhymes for when he starts poking holes in condoms...

I am the copilot, and I sit on the right,
Its up to me to be quick and bright,
I never talk back for I have no regrets,
But I have to remember what the captain forgets.

I make out the flight plan and study the weather,
Pull up the gear and stand by to feather,
Make out the mail forms and do the reporting,
And fly the old crate while the Captain is courting.

I take the readings, adjust the power,
Put on the heaters when we're in a shower,
Tell him where we are on the darkest of night,
And do all the bookwork without any light.

I call for my captain and buy him cokes,
I always laugh at his corny jokes,
And once in a while when his landings are rusty,
I always come thru with "by gosh it's gusty!"

All in all, I'm a general stooge,
As I sit on the right of the man I call "Scrooge",
I guess you think that its past understanding,
But maybe someday he will give me a landing.

I'd almost want to work in a office cubical for a week, just to see what it's like

Disposable cups are banned in my office... No I'm not kidding.

Starbucks coffee and disposable cups are provided where I work. So is tea, hot chocolate, ice, and filtered water. We have two wonderful cafes, dry cleaning drop off & return, USPS/UPS/FedEx drop points, electric adjustable height desks, ergo everything we want, and what ever computer hardware we need.

With all of that I still like working at home better. I like going in periodically, but no every day of every week. One week a month is enough.

If I did that at my office there would be three weeks of mandatory sensitivity training for the entire office.

LOL yup! or diversity training because you didn't include non-coffee drinkers. stinkin corporate America! oh wait, I'm late for a meeting.......

We have 3 cafes, 3 stores, we have Starbucks, we have drop off dry cleaning. We also have a pharmacy on site and a medical clinic. Also, we have some cool flight sims that I occasionally get to play with. BUTTTTT if you're going to get a coffee/tea/hot chocolate from the Nescafé machines you're supposed to use the plastic coffee mugs they hand out. If you're a visitor they have ceramic coffee mugs they will issue you. No disposable cups are in stock. Nobody is going to tackle you and take you to HR, they just don't provide them.because we all took "the pledge" we're not suppose to use them.

Man, I thought I had it pretty good. You guys are downright spoiled.

I was doing some interior painting last night, and when doing things like that your mind wanders and thinks about 100 unrelated things. One of them was that when I started working here 25 years ago that I thought it couldn't possibly last. Being paid middle income wage to come in, no pressure, no stress, all the internet you can suck down. I almost had myself worked into a sweat thinking it can't continue to last another 22 years. (target retirement)
