Yesterday we got to see a plane my grandfather flew in the 40’s. We hope to see another next month.

Last minute Lifeline flight to John Tune this morning. Lots of beautiful cloud viewing and a couple instrument approaches. My first time to JWN, man that place is busy, especially for how small it is. Probably the most GA traffic I've seen at an airport, about half piston and half turbine.

Jim, at what altitude was this photo taken? I ask because a friend lost his life just south of Franklin in a BE 35 at 1:00 pm cst today. Track appears that he initiated a climb from 7000’ to 9000’ then all went to hell and the aircraft suffered an inflight break-up. Looks like a small TS was building at his location and perhaps he tried to top it unsuccessfully. Reportedly he, and two passengers, were enroute to KLOU. :(

Damn, sorry to hear that. That photo was at 9000. We came back north at 6000, departing about noon. Weather was pretty benign at that time. There was some nasty stuff to the east, but it was a ways away and moving that direction.

Where did you go? Tried Lorraine's a while back, but I think the crabcakes at 3W3 are better.
Lorraine's is now the only show in town, outside the "Four Brother's" which is take-away and outside dining only. 3W3 ALWAYS a fun place to land and stroll down to the Kentmor Crab House!

We have 60 volunteers going down to Tangier Island in June to live there for a week and help the older folks rebuild their homes...should be a good mission. Been doing this since 2015 with a group of pilots and others...

So, a few more of the FSK bridge on the way home....still a mess but getting better day by day.
