No....it depends on the resultant forces. Any tail configuration can be ripped off.

I believe those pictures are old.....they've been on the internets for a while.

They are not falling out of the sky....the accident rate will bear that out. This guy obviously was into some nasty turbulence....it was more than just light. IMHO.

Just pointing out that a chain of events takes only "one" link to break....vs multiple risk factors.

Yup....they like to call it the Swiss Cheese model. It doesn't take just one event or link in the chain....but multiple risks factors that are additive till..... ;)

An EMP event will clear the deck for all aviation....not just the new AAM vehicles. As for the new air vehicles.....they are toys with little utility. They currently are scrambling to "add" range by adding duel fuel or hybrid systems.

It comes down to how much "you" want to do.....and the tire kickers.

Meh, how can we complicate this?....I'd find out who was doing the annuals (from the current log books) ...the last couple of years and call them. They will have no allegiance to the current owner. Ask them if they remember the plane?....what is their impression of the plane?...what kind of...

Auto engines are so retro. Why not be more progressive and go with a nuke or electric of some kind? ;)
