WX Radar Retrofit C210

Hi all,

We are considering fitting a WX Radar to a C210. The avionics shop informed me that this was only possible if the wing was prepared / fitted with installations to take the Radome and if these installations were not done out of factory, a WX could not be retrofitted.

Anybody knows whether that is a fair statement?

What year and model 210? Cessna did at one time have a service kit for modifying 210s (AK210-150E, AK210-151G, AK210-155D depending on S/N), to add the radar pod. You would not be able to procure that kit from Cessna anymore, but you might be able to procure the parts from a junk yard, but probably somewhat of a longshot.
