This oughta be exciting. My first flyin, and my first passenger!

Nick,

Two of the best parts of flying. Going to fly-in's and sharing it with someone else. Have a great time.

You know, that brings up a good point, I should ask....gliders have right of way, does that extend everywhere in the pattern? For example, if I'm on downwind, and a glider says that he's coming in on downwind also, should I give way, or expect him to fall in line?

I have never been in a glider and I could be wrong, but unless he has a
handheld he won't be saying anything.

If he announces downwind, go somewhere else for four minutes. Stall speed is 27. V-glide is about 45. And he can't go around.

Some gliders have radios, most IME don't. Whether they announce or not, you should never interfere with a glider in the pattern. One thing you probably won't have to worry about is a glider catching up with you from behind. Just keep your eyes open/moving and don't run any over. AFaIK outside of a serious emergency, gliders have the right of way over a power plane at all times.
