wmv file too big

Flying Motorcycle

I got this neat wmv file about a patented flying motorcycle but its 3mb and too large to upload. Anybody got a website they could upload it to if I emailed them the attachment?

We allow wmv files up to 5 megabytes - what is the error message you're getting?

Hmm, just says File failed to upload. I tried again and get the same message. It's 3.8mb but runs okay on my system when I open it so I know the file's okay.

Wierd. According to windows its 3.75 MB but according to my email program its 5.1MB.

AHA - php was configured with a 2M limit. Adjusting and testing.

Maybe - but that wasn't the ultimate problem. PHP.INI was configured with a 2 MB limit. Reset to 16 MB and restarted apache - we don't allow > 5mb anyway so 16 is plenty more than we'll need.

Sorry I wasn't clear.

The reason email binary attachements are bigger in the email program than on disk is that they are encoded in 6-bit ascii. 3.75/6 * 8 = 5. email is an ascii only protocol.

You're right this has nothing to do with why it wasn't uploading.
