I keep on getting an error message that a security token is missing or mismatched. Any ideas?
That's okay, I was slow to pack the gear up as I was doing shortfield technique, e.g, if one quits, I'm quite hosed.....
Beautiful pics. Looks like a great time. I'll have to attend next year to represent the Grumman Air Force.
Anybody got a picture of the dumptruck go-around?
It's in one of the 292's under the label of yer Moooooooooney
Better late than never. A hotel's eye view of the flightline, followed by some Saturday afternoon hikers at the Windwood sign. Some of the beautiful fall colors on the mountain, the back side of some of us hiking toward the beautiful fall colors on the mountain, and another very nice mountain with beautiful color.
Nice! I think we've definitely shown folks that another (non-competing) location is a POA winner!
Not as good as others, but I had naught but a little point and shoot. Definitely a repeatable event, and loads of fun. Hopefully next time I can bring my aircraft, though I thoroughly enjoyed the drive back.
I found the landing video Gary took on my camcorder with our approach to WV62 from the Northeast.
Good Job. I had to chuckle when you said you weren't asking about traffic in the pattern.....
LOL......I'm NOT asking about traffic in the pattern...
Provided a good look at those tress on short final, good job guys!
Nice Video! That approach was nice and shows the trees pretty good. I flew the pattern first to get a look, then used the 40* barn doors to come in high and drop in over them. So when we going back,... I'm open in a few weeks
So that's the secret to landing without a truck pulling out on the runway! You do a straight in so they don't know you're coming .
Nice video Adam.
Nice video! The trees on short final looked beautiful.
For those of us new to the board, where is this and when?
It is usually the first Saturday in October. It is held at WV62 a private strip in the Caanan Valley in West Virginia.
WV62 from Skyvector
Are we thinkin' about this again? It was really a neat weekend!
We've been throwing the idea around for this year. We're not too far away in the 310, so it sounds like a fun idea to us.
I used to mountain bike in the Canaan Valley area of WV. Beautiful place. The Cass Railroad is nearby complete with Shay engines and switchbacks as you go up and down the mountain.
I was there in June, but on motorcycle. There is a big ride a bunch of us have been doing for, holy cow, 23 years now. I volunteered to organize it this past summer and we stayed at Windwood, it was great!
Was that the same one you stayed at my house a few years back on?
Can't do it this year, I'm in Coeur D'Alene, ID at that time.
Went to the first one, it was nice
Same ride or same bike? Different both, actually!
I hear that is a beautiful place, in the summer anyway.
I've got a buddy in CD'A - he posts pictures and it looks like a gorgeous area. He posted something last week about a snowball fight. Not sure if it was 'natural' snow or not.
