People don't understand how powerful moving water is... paddlers learn about the dangers of walking across a river in water higher than your knees... and even then it's tricky. A flooded waterway is deadly - as we've seen. Bless her little heart. And her momma's broken heart.

Same system put 6 tornadoes thru Jackson, MS on 4/4/08.
And, an F/A-18 landing in Slidell, LA for a weekend airshow collapsed his gear attempting to stop before running off the end of the runway (if you've ever seen an -18 landing gear you'll understand the significance). One of the Navy pilots I met at Sun 'n Fun was scheduled to be on the incident review board.
