Teens Face Charges in Big Easy Bag Carousel Caper
Life's gonna be grand when he gets home!
Now here's a lovely story from birthplace and home-away-from-home of this particular blogger. A couple of teenage boys were arrested on Sunday at the Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans after they took a ride on a baggage carousel and ended up in a secure portion of the airport according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office. The two were charged with unauthorized entry of a business and were held overnight in lieu of $1,000 bond. They had reportedly been sitting on baggage carousel number 5 when it started and transported the teens behind the wall into a "sterile area" of the airport. When an employee told the two to get off the belt, they ignored the request and tried to hide from airport officials in a restroom where they were ultimately found by deputies. Ironically, these two "criminals" were traveling through the airport on a church trip. When the New Orleans newspaper The Times-Picayune tried to make contact with one of the teen's mother the next day for a comment regarding the incident, she told them she wasn't even aware her son had been arrested. Whoops.
