Just wondering what some good books for becoming better at understanding weather are? Preferably, some that are not so dry. Maybe you also know of a good DVD?

Thank you, for all the info.
Once I begin reading, and thinking about it, I am sure the questions will begin flowing.

Not a book, but a website worth a look and potential subscription

Scott Dennstaedt's www.AvWxWorkshops.com

Great information, and explained in a way even Aggies can understand.

Agreed. I wish I would make more time to read Scott's stuff. I usually have to digest it in huge chunks when I have time. But it's always tasty. ;)

Buck's son is finishing up a new revision of Weather Flying. I have a feeling that Rob will put out a good new edition.

I saw that, and looked on the publishers site. Looks like it is going to be out in April. Wondering, if I should just go for the current edition?

+2. If you only had one resource to pick, this would be it. Collins et al are helpful for getting a big picture of what to watch out for and how it all works. Scott's site answers the question "can I take this flight and what should I expect" better than anything out there.
