I have a meeting in St. Louis at the end of the month. It's near Lambert, but I have no desire to fly in there.

Do you recommend Creve Coeur or St. Charles?

Lambert is VERY GA friendly. I would reconsider! St. Charles is out a ways and if there's any traffic it's quite a while. SUS in Chesterfield is the business airport, but is also a ways out.

Downtown is in an AWFUL neighborhood on the east river (in Illinois).

Go into Lambert. Really.

I used to fly out of SUS. It's a nice airport, not really that far but maybe enough. It's a great airport to operate out of... except when the levy breaks. :)

The last two Christmas', I flew into St. Louis Downtown. The Exxon FBO are great folks but getting into and out of the airport and across the river.... it bites! I've never been into Creve Coeur and know nothing about it.

If Doc Bruce recommends Lambert for a GA aircraft, go for it. I'd probably call around ahead of time for ramp and landing fees.

Don't know much about the area. Iflew GA into Creve Coeur for a business meeting, fine service. Discovered a fantastic Antique Aircraft Museum there.

If you go to Lambert you have a choice of two FBOs. There's a Signature and an AirBP place. What I remember about the AirBP place is that they are very particular about security when you re-enter. They made us show ID, open the trunk and searched under the car with mirrors. You also have to be escorted the last few hundred yards as you drive to the entrance of the FBO. I think this is because the Boeing F-18 facility is very close by on the ramp. Signature has none of these hassles, but of course it is more expensive.

I have also flown into St. Louis Downtown which isn't in the best neighborhood but you shouldn't have any problem if you have a rental car or take a taxi. There are two FBOs there too, Midcoast and Ideal. We went to Ideal which is the smaller of the two. They were friendly and provided good service.

I worked at Lambert (STL) and Spirit (SUS) airports. Both will accept G.A. aircraft, for a fee. I always go to St. Charles County (SET) when I fly up for a visit. It is a nice airport with the cheapest fuel in the area. It has no ramp fees. It is a bit out of the way, though. St. Charles (3SQ) it in very bad shape. The runway is VERY rough. It is closer to town than (SET), but is still a little remote.

My recommendation is (SET) if you can arrange transportation. Otherwise, I would go to (SUS), (STL), or (1H0). I can't say anything good or bad about (1H0) because I have never landed there
