This is a unit that drop in replaces the standard Whelen rotating beacon 3-3/4" hole. I bought it for the Navion and found out it wouldn't fit because I had a Grimes beacon that was shorter and squatter in the hole (I subsequently found out that the grimes beacon motor very nicely was disassembled so I could get it to rotate again).

Anyhow, while the box has been opened, this has never been installed in an aircraft. They go for over $400 at Spruce. I'll sell for $300 with shipping included.

I am interested. Is it a red lens. HRCFA R or DR? Just about to buy one on aircraft spruce but ran across your post.

Gee...it's been a long time, but I think I still have the thing around somewhere.

Sounds good let me know. The strobe upgrade out of 2U would be nice but that is way to much money for what it is... Especially AP 6 hours to install and paint. 1knot of airspeed is silliness.
Rather have a good working plane and spend time finishing up my IFR commercial ratings

Thanks
