what's going on in NYC....

That plots out to the Lower East Side -- sounds like the UN General Assembly is in session again with the usual stream of world leaders trooping through to speak, making the UN a "target" in the minds of the security wonks. Anyone who follows that sort of stuff able to confirm? In any event, that location shouldn't really affect anyone's operations since the East River Corridor (the dead end "corridor to nowhere") is already effectively closed to all operations that aren't covered by paragraphs 3 and 4.

This happens yearly. The security is amazing... I have seen an unusual amount of teenagers carrying assault rifles on rooftops, in hotel corridors, and on really fast boats in the east river. I am sure there are some Apaches nearby, too...

I used to be one of those teenagers. Now I'm just another New Yorker who wouldn't shed a tear if the UN packed its bags and moved elsewhere.

I saw two F-16 in a low and slow formation drill over the city today.
