What's better than a private airstrip? A whole airport...

CL77 has been for sale for years for the "bargain basement" price of $5M.

I can't imagine why no one wants an unlit obstructed and sloped ridgetop field surrounded by noise nazis.

Landed there a couple of times (with owner's permission). Dicey.
 
I did a ton of TnGs there during my training, nice little field.

Well, kinda...I actually lived and did more work up in Teller County. But, close enough.
 
Man, if I could afford it (only $3.2M!), I would totally buy Boony Doon. An airport by Santa Cruz? how awesome is that?

If you ever lived atop that ridge, you would think differently.

There was once a convenience store at Felton Empire and Empire Grade. It was driven out of business because the neighbors didn't like "the traffic."

Santa Cruz had its airport. Some 800 feet of the pavement is still there, behind Suburban Propane in Scotts Valley. The rest is divided up among Skypark and a nearby housing development.

They reduced it to 3.2M? Keep going....
