Whatever happened to these companies?

I used to be a member of a volunteer fire department of a town just outside of Baltimore where Beth Steel had a big presence (Sparrows Point Shipyards, etc..). We had a lot of current and retired employees in our membership. Anytime we found rust on anything it was obviously that "Damn Japanese Steel".
