What airplane is this? Came to visit Airman Acres yesterday.

Per the N-number, it's a 1942 Fairchild M-62A owned by the American Airpower Heritage Flying Museum in Midland, TX.
 
You're all right -- PT-19 is the military designation for the Fairchild model M-62, and while it looks like a DHC-1, it isn't.
 
Well, to me, they don't look anything alike. Other than they are low wing taildraggers.
 
Experience and perception. No doubt many folks think all the 4-seat Grummans look alike, but I can tell them apart at a glance from the right angle.

When you are into certain aircraft you can usually spot the minor differences. Then you know you have the bug.
