Yesterday we had winds with frequent gusts of 60+ mph.

Ferry service, airline service, etc. were cut off from the islands. (Martha's Vinyard and Nantucket)

A newborn was being delived at the Martha's vineyard hospital and was in great distress.
The "regular" life flight copters were all grounded, and the guys (and gals) from the US Coast Guard's Air Station Cape Cod, sent a Jayhawk up to Boston to pick up a neonatal medical crew with an incubator (sp?) and flew them to Martha's Vineyard, then brought the baby back to a Boston hispital, where the child is receiving treatment.

Outstanding job by our service men and women!

Big brass ones all around on that crew. What great work by USCG Cape Cod!

Cheers,

-Andrew

They landed on the roof of NEMC - in Chinatown, where the building winds can be the worst. Wow. What great work!

There is a photo and a video of the transport up on that site as well...

Cheers,

-Andrew
