vibration activated hobbs meter - decathlon

I have a super decathlon and have just gotten a vibration activated hobbs meter to put on it. There is no room in the panel and I'm thinking of putting it under the cowling in a place where you can see it w/ the oil door open.
Anyone else dealt with these kinds of meters? Any suggestions for proper placement of the thing?

If it's used for billing purposes, on dampeners would be my vote as the renter. :wink2:
