Well, I have to admit, this gave me great pause! Who in the heck came up with this message <g>. This was after it said: found new hardware. It happened to be an external hard drive. Thoughts of HAL and 2001 Space Oddesy sure came to mind when I saw this.

Amen! "Human Interface Device" (HID) is supposed to be things like mice, keyboards, sketch tablets, joysticks... things that provide input from a human or provide output to a human.

An External Hard Drive isn't an HID... manufacturer misclassified it!

By the way, here's a picture of my favorite computer HID.
