"Fishes"??????????

Its a reference to my current biggest pet peeve that can be found in the dictionary. Was off topic, but seeing anything added to the dictionary brings it up in my mind.

See also, "Badder" and in some dictionaries, "funner."

Mine dived and pleaded

Dived and in "I scuba dived" I prefer 'I scuba dove'

pleaded as in "he pleaded guilty" I prefer "he plead guilty"

Say them out loud and you may see what I mean.

and yes 'badder' is annoying too.

i cant really spell anyway so i dont worry too much about what is and isnt in the dictionary. I like having Nick around to check my grammar though :)

Nothin' wrong with fishes, if used properly.

A bunch of salmon (or any other kind of fish) = a bunch of fish.

A whole lot of different kinds of fish = fishes.

I learned this in a limnology class, not an english class.
