We were going to Chicago (DPA) on Saturday for a niece's graduation on Sunday. Arrived at Coshocton, Ohio (I40) for fuel, bathroom, and a weather check, and did not like the looks of the weather in Chicago. What to do? We're baseball fans and the wife figured out that the Nationals were playing in Cleveland. I had been wanting to visit Burke Lakefront airport - a few phone calls and other preflight planning and we were off! About 45 minutes of light IMC later:
We wound up with a very inexpensive lake view hotel room and a great dinner at the Greenhouse Tavern. I loved that we could walk from our hotel to the ballgame and back, and we walked to the FBO the next morning as well. Too bad about the ball game. We did make it to Chicago in time for the festivities.
