Tuskegee Airmen honored

Danos, nice story, and it contains a pretty complete history of the group too.
They were a pretty exceptional group.

I got to meet one of the Tuskegee guys when I worked down at KCGS.
I know that he had some pretty amazing stories, I just can't seem to remember any of them right now!

I met one several years ago while working in Lenoir NC. He was a patient in the ER so I couldn't really talk much at the time. I wish I had his autograph. They were true heros.

That is great that they are being honored -- But, like my heros the WASPS it comes sooo late.

I never met one of the Tuskegee airmen but I did get to meet one of the Navy's Golden 13 once

There are all gone now.

Captain Obvious here. You could say there are going to be fewer WW II vets alive each year. Any WW II vet who was 18 he they served in 1944 is going to be 81 years old this year.

Of course, there are also fewer of anybody who was alive last year each year.
