TUNICA, Miss. (June 3, 2005) — The Tunica Air Races has officially established itself as the second air racing venue in the world as it posts the first race results today for the Unlimited and T-6 classes.



Brian Sanders racer #8 of El Dorado Hill, California flying “Dreadnought” posted the fastest time in Heat 1A Gold of the Unlimited class with a time of 7:46 and 365 mph race speed. Matt Jackson racer # 114 of Northridge, California flying “Argonaut” followed Sanders posting 8:01 with a race speed of 354 mph. Mike Brown racer #1 of Carson City, Nevada rounds out the top three posting 8:25 in “Big Bossman,” with a 336 mph race speed. Bob Button racer #5 in “Voodoo”* and John Bagley racer #47 in “Ole Yeller”* finish up the heat with 8:39 and 8:40 respectively.

In the T-6 races, Mary Dilda racer #22 of Memphis, Tennessee lead the pack posting 8:33 and 188.6 mph race speed. Joey Sanders racer #5 of Jasper, Alabama was right behind her with 8:34 and 188.3. Gene McNeely racer #90 of Port Orange, Florida placed third with 8:38 and 186 mph race speed.* Michael Gillian racer #68 posted 9:10
