Come visit former WW2 airfields in Montana, USA, now heritage-listed, where Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress bomber crews undertook their final training in navigation, bombing & gunnery, including use of the top-secret Norden bombsite. Hope you enjoy. Cheers.

Cool!

At the age of 17 my father joined the AF and became a ball turret gunner in a 17 during WW2. He flew 36 missions (extended from the original 25 and go home) over Germany. He went on to do two tours of Vietnam.

Me and my sisters were all born on AF bases. For the last 5 years my sister Shirley has volunteered for the Commemorative Air Force, and spends 4 to 6 weeks a year touring with Sentimental Journey. I think she must be getting close to having and many flight hours in a 17 as my Dad did by now!

Thanks Gary. I’m glad it brought back such nice memories for you. Cheers.
