Torun is one of the oldest cities in Poland, established in 1233 on the right bank of the Vistula River by the Teutonic Knights. Nicolaus Copernicus was born on 19 February 1473 in the city of Thorn (modern Torun). The city sustained no damage during World War II. This allowed the Old Town to be fully preserved. It was time for a closer look end of June.
