turn volume up.
"HAC" is heading alignment cylinder, apparently
Starts up at 83000', about mach 2, I think he said but check out the asi!
The pitch attitude appears to drop considerably as they enter atmosphere.

Right here!

I like the comment "they never told us what the weather was..." They sound relaxed and it looks like a very good approch.

thats pretty cool.

3 yrs ago at state soaring seminar we had a speaker who works for NASA. He helps run the ground crew that keeps the Shuttle Landing Sim aircraft up and running. you know the gulfstream II's that go into reverse thrust in flight. he showed a video of the final approach and the whole room (glider pilots) gasped! that approach angle just screamed overshoot to all of us.

I'd have to keep telling myself... "You're not too high, you're not too high!"

"De-rotate"? That's a new one.

That's incredible. I love how they're joking around as they call out Mach-2, but then when they start to take over manual control the tone changes and it's all business. I was also particularly amused by how far off their overlay was. That's a great video!
