On this date in 1962, Boeing rolled out the first 727. It was built in Renton.
I spent many hours in 727s as a passenger. I can still hear the resonate frequencies from the venerable JT8D engines on a dark late night flight, as they occasionally synchronized and produced a satisfying pulsation through the airframe.
They were good birds.
