TKM KX-12 Issue

Hi all,

Recently bought a plane and the TKM MX-12 navcom has since given up the ghost. Worked when I got it but not for long. The LEDs still light up strong as can be, but none of the buttons work now. Can't change frequencies, the 25hz button doesn't work, flip-flop doesn't work, etc. Issue is on both the com and nav side. Have already tried to slide it out and back in (reseat the pins, etc.) but that did not help. Any ideas?

Send it in to TKM.
Last time I dealt with them, their standard bench test price was $99.
They replaced several items fried by a voltage surge.
Total return shipped price was $155.
However, if it’s a MX12 or MX12B, they don’t work on the older units. Company was sold to new owners.
Prices have steadily risen till they are no longer attractive.
Spend a little more and get a Garmin 255.
