Tis the season for helicopter hockey

Really really dumb thing to do with a really really expensive and really really breakable piece of machinery. I think the guy who did the porn shoot in his was actually quite a bit safer.
 
Is the ice sliding that much different than landing/taxiing on skis?

I was more concerned about the guys skating out of the way at the last moment. One little slip from anybody and it's over.
 
There's a guy on this very board who I'm sure has done this several times :rolleyes:
 
Even looks a bit reckless to me. I'd have to be there to say for sure.
 
I'd say that guy has balls, but it looks too cold to make a difference either way.
 
Wow. Running landing. That's a private pilot maneuver.

Not criticizing you for posting it Velocity, but rather the pilot for making a really unimpressive maneuver dangerous. If you're going to risk equipment and lives, might as well do something cool.
 
What was supposed to be interesting with the water frozen? I'm assuming there was another camera being used to get the shot of the game they wanted.
