Thunder Over Michigan this Weekend 7/18-19

Historic Willow Run Airport, Michigan (KYIP) will again be hosting the Thunder Over Michigan Airshow. Fly or drive, although flying in is the way to go, avoid traffic and parking.

Always a great show, lot of WWII Warbirds, tribute to C-130 this year, WWII re-enactors, MIG 15, 17, 21, F4 and Blue Angels.

Park your bird on the West Ramp, A/C Shuttle Bus to the show.

Flying to the Show

Parking will be available on the west ramp for all General Aviation aircraft at AV Flight West FBO. The east ramp will be closed to GA aircraft from 8:00 AM July 17th until 7:00 PM July 19th.

Their B24 used to rumble over my house pretty regularly - but I haven't seen it yet this summer. But A minute ago I heard some radial engines and ran out in time to see a B-25. One nice thing about living under Class B - VFR traffic gets pushed down below 2500 MSL...
