Just think -- every one of those planes was likely scrapped within the year. :sad:
 
Those were taken at a military airshow somewhere in Wisconsin. Somewhere within an easy drive of Madison. The first picture has a Blatz ad in it, the third has lettering on the building that starts "Wisconsin Centr..."

There's another blurry picture of what appears to be 4 fighter jets landing or taking off in formation that I didn't post. A little too blurry and far off to identify the planes. Might have been an early Blue Angels performance.

Wisconsin Central Airlines was based at Truax Field in Madison from 1946 to 1952. The name was changed to North Central Airlines and moved to Minneapolis.
 
By the way, if I'm not mistaken, the large plane is an R6V. This was one of only two made. Both have been scrapped.

Interesting history on the R6V (aka R6O).
