Something changed recently, perhaps in an update. If you click a post number in a thread (on the right side of the post's header), it shows a page with a single post view.

Example: http://www.pilotsofamerica.com/forum/showpost.php?p=632896&postcount=7

It used to be that you could then click (or right click and copy the url) on the bolded "Thread: <thread name>", also in the right side of the header, and get a URL to the main thread, like this:

http://www.pilotsofamerica.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38219

Now, though, you get a link that "jumps" to the actual post IN the thread, like this:

http://www.pilotsofamerica.com/forum/showthread.php?p=632896#post632896

Sometimes, I want a link to the thread, not to a specific post within the thread. Is there a workaround, or another place on the page where I can grab the thread's main link?

This works for me now just like you described it used to work for you. The thread link in the header of the individual post reads:
Thread: "{thread name}" and clicking on that takes me to the first post of the named thread.
