As we look at places for potential retirement, a couple of the have fairly active chapters of the NARCOA. Might be fun to have one of these and participate in their outings.

They look like fun. It's the closest to recreational railroading you can get without being a billionaire.

We saw a group of them going through Cumberland MD over the summer.

By the way, check out the YouTube videos of the bamboo railroad in Cambodia for an even more simplified (and practical) railroad fun.
