My mom just told me she got a phone call saying she won a contest, no... a free vacation,....no a lottery ...she had to come pick up the prize...no we'll send it to you. The person had an accent that she could barely understand so she handed the phone to my sister.

I told her that if she gets any calls from a bank or the credit card company or whoever to take a phone number and call me or my brother.
As she is prone to do, she wanted to know what the scam could be. Are they trying to get me out of the house? I asked her how that could matter.
