I've been told that the most important tools anyone can have in their tool box are Duct Tape and WD-40.

If it doesn't move and it should, then use the WD-40.

If it does move and it shouldn't, then use the Duct Tape.

When it comes to tools, my favorite is....when in doubt, use a hammer.

My dad's favorite was "There's a correct tool for every job. Unfortunately, it's always on the other truck, so use a hammer."

As I've also been reminded. Duct tape is like The Force, it has a Light side and a Dark side and it holds the universe together.

In further defence of the skilled participants of the P210 "main gear snag-pick up truck & hook-save maneuver" followed in another thread here today, it should be noted that the guys in the truck were not only safely prevented from falling out by being securely duct taped to the truck bed but, the hook master himself also had nothing less than a protective and nearly indestructable sheild of actual multilayered duct tape on the leading side of his head (both out of view from the camera) ... so no problem, leave 'em all alone.

And if it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.

And fortunately for some of us, you can now purchase Duct Tape in fashion colors such as yellow and pink.
BTW, gals, if you want to be sure your man NEVER borrows your tools, wrap some part of them with pink duct tape. Some bits of fluffy pink feathers are good too. Then the first time he can't find something in his tool box and wants to borrow yours, smile sweetly, hand it over, then call his best friend and say something like, "Jake just told me he won't need the Harley and you can use it for the rest of the day if you get over here in the next 10 minutes." Then have your video camera ready.
Of course I would never do such a thing.

It's not a hammer - it's a "persuader". <img>
